After 33 years of
performing around Florida and the Southeast United States we, the members of
Southern Star Bluegrass, have decided to disband. We want you all to know how
sincerely thankful we are to have had the opportunity to entertain people for
the past 33 years. Over the years we have
made many new friends from all around the United States and Europe. Many of
them come back year after year to attend our shows. We will always hold dear
those relationships that were formed and those of the many fans that have
followed our development for all of these years. Larry Jackson, the
guitar player and lead singer for Southern Star will be reforming a Bluegrass
Band or will be playing in the near future with another band. As you are
aware, he has been the backbone of the Southern Star sound for more than 20
years. God Bless
On Friday, October 13,
1995, Southern Star Bluegrass had the honor and privilege to participate in
the 70th Anniversary Bluegrass Spectacular at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee.
Following their
performance on the Bluegrass Spectacular, Southern Star was asked to stay and
perform at the Friday night Opry show which is
broadcast over the Nationally syndicated WSM radio network. Thank
you for visiting, come back soon!
